xESB: Security Enhanced Enterprise Service Bus

Enforcing complex policies that span organizational domains in an SOA is yet a challenge. Connecting service consumers and providers with disparate security requirements, has been an active area of research with approaches ranging from WS-* specifications, to orchestration security. What this body of work has in common is that it addresses SOA security solely onto application endpoints; it does not consider what happens between services, as the data (requests or replies) is in transit. To bridge this gap, xESB provides a group of security mechanisms into the enterprise backbone, so that we can monitor and enforce intra and inter-domain usage control policies onto moving data.
